Boston Update

Sunday- we enjoyed a wonderful worship time with Redemption Hill and there are at least three other churches here to assist them in "Serving " Medford". Two churches are from North Carolina and our neighbors at FBC Henderson! After worship we dined on pizza and had an orientation meeting by the leadership of Redemption Hill. We met the team from North Carolina who will work with us at the kids camp this week!

Monday- we got started early Monday with breakfast at Tuft's then picked up the other team and headed to Willis Ave., the site of our Kids Camp! We were greeted by many of the children who attended last year. We started out by knocking on doors and others picked up trash around the center. We then gathered the kids together for group parachute games. We had lunch with the kids, an introduction of the day, arts, recreation, crafts, character lessons, music, snacks, and free time. The character trait today was JOY!

The evening was spent on the subway going to downtown Boston. We enjoyed visiting the campuses of Harvard and MIT!

Tuesday- much the same with the highlight for the children being water balloons incorporated into the rec time! We taught the character trait PEACE!

Pam Brown, Susan Wilson, Anna Leigh and Katherine Strahan spent Tuesday baby-sitting for Jon and Leigh Chasteen!

Wednesday- a day off for everyone! It was filled with Duck boat tours, Freedom Trail walks, shopping, more sight seeing and for a few a ball game at the 100 year old Fenway Park! What a week so far! The last two days will be great! More to come!!!
